Today, I went to Urbino with Amalia and colleague of hers, Massimo because they had to give an exam. So in the two hours they were giving it, I got to walk around and explore Urbino!! It's THE CUTEST LITTLE TOWN I've EVER seen. You know when you go to Olive Garden and you see the pictures of the rolling hills of Tuscana? Well this was it. In the flesh. AMAZING!!! Tiny, cobblestone streets with even tinier alleyways going off of them...huge hills with views of the countryside..a little town center with a fountain..MANNN, doesn't get much better than this. And the drive over is on a road on the side of a mountain, too! What a view..
I walked around, took some great pictures, bought myself a new battery charger with batteries (yey!) because mine all DIED and the charger doesn't work (??). I sat on these little steps and ate a prosciutto sandwich I'd made myself this morning, on this amazing, croissant-like bread, watching the people walk by...then of course, I had to get a small cup of nutella gelato when i saw the same store there, in urbino!
Then, I sat on a stone wall with the countryside before me and read.
When the exam was over, Amalia leaned out the window and called, "Kiki!" Heh. I went in to the classroom (SO different from an American classroom) and we chatted while we waited for Massimo. I told her what I'm studying at school and she said that Chiara and Edo both went to an SLP!! Chiara for her 's' and Edo for his 'r'!! Pretty cool...
On the three hour drive home, I fell asleep (just like on the way there) and woke up to Massimo singing to Elton John! HAHA. Then, Veronica called me and asked me if I wanted to go out to eat with her and a couple friends!! So I met them at this pizzeria, two of her girlfriends, who are also ER doctors, and Veronica, and we had THE MOST AMAZING PIZZA!!!!! AHHHHHH!!! Indescribable.
