I just typed all this, but my computer LOST it. Stupido.
Anyway, today I woke up late, so I only did the first little part of my grandiose itinerary that I made yesterday evening, with the help of my City Walks: Rome. It took my from my apartment on Muggia to two cute little piazzas, each with a fountain (one more elegant than the other) and then to Piazza di Risorgimento, where Amalia lives. On the way I grabbed a slice of pomodori e mozzarella pizza, mm!
At Amalia's, I typed up what I'd translated yesterday and then together we worked on translating more. We worked straight through for about two hours..it was so intense, especially with all the law jargon!! WOO!! So Amalia will generally translate a sentence and I'll help her with a few words and then with the syntax, and there was this one word she didn't know in English and before she looked it up, I was like, "Oh, 'intrinsic'?" And she was like, "Wow! You're good!!! I have some university law students who don't know what 'intrinsic' means!" Haha..and at one point, Edo was asking when we'd be finished and Amalia said not for a while, and he started crying and went into his mother's arms and she was stroking his hair, like, "Awww, Edoooo." and he goes, "Voglio giocare con Kimberly!" And she's like, "Ohhh!! Kimmmberly, non Mama!!!" HAHA.
For dinner Deborah made amazing pasta (when is it ever not amazing) and Federico came home in time to eat with us. The kids had already eaten, so they were just running around and they were getting tired because at one point, Edo was just screaming and Chiara was complaining and Federico says in his broken English, "Ladies and gentlemen, this is FAMILY!" Hahahahha!! It was so funny because it reminded me of something Uncle Steve would say when Emma and Ryan were being crazy! HAHAH!
When I left Amalia's, I was going to take the bus home, but instead, I got a little bit of gelato, tiramisu flavored this time (!!), and walked. It was SOOO nice!!
Oh, and last night, Veronica taught me how to make pasta alla carbonara!! It was DELICIOUS, I'd never had it before!! And tomorrow I have to be at Amalia's by 8 (woo!) because we're going to their house in Fregene (oh, did I mention they have and apartment in Paris, too? Hmmm...)
